Hunter, Colorful Colorado Cutthroat Trout Wall Sculpture, Encaustic Wood and Copper Folk Art Fish, Beautiful Texture, Lake and Lodge Decor
Keeping it Reel...Meet Hunter, a majestic colorful Cutthroat Trout, featuring a gorgeous texture this trout will look awesome swimming on your wall to remind you of your last fishing adventure, as a conversation starter or just to make you happy!
Created tip to tail by Vermont artist Rachel Laundon. This piece is an original, it is carved from wood and painted using an ancient and unusual technique called encaustic painting. Encaustic paint is made from beeswax mixed with pigment powder and tree resin! You paint it in molten form and it hardens when it cools. The result is a beautiful textured vintage looking surface with luscious color. Love the color and pattern on this guy! The fins are copper that I hammered and oxidized for a nice patina that looks amazing against the waxy surface. I reverse paint clear glass cabochons for the eyes and added a little bling behind it with repurposed metal .
This particular fish would look great above a mantle, swimming in the bathroom, or entry way. A perfect fit with any Lake and Lodge decor. The back of each fish painted, signed and dated by the artist and features a hanging wire for easy mounting.
